Happy World Plumbing Day

If you’re in the Plumbing Industry, then you are probably well aware that today is World Plumbing Day! I know what you’re thinking, World Plumbing Day, are you kidding me, sounds as crazy as International Pancake Day (which was March 8th).  Think about it for a minute though, plumbing, when you get down to it, is pretty amazing.  So to celebrate World Plumbing Day, here are just a few awesome facts about Plumbing!

  • Plumbing is super historic!  ThePlumber.org reports that plumbing got it’s start in the palace of Knossos on Crete in 1700 B.C.  We also know the Romans developed a complex plumbing system to supply water to their cities and the famous Roman Baths.
  • Plumbing delivers us the most sustaining part of our lives – water.  On average water makes up 60% or greater of our bodies, it’s essentially to survival and brought to the masses through plumbing.
  • Plumbing allows for one of Speakman’s favorite pastimes, showering.  In the early 1900s, Speakman helped lead the modern day revolution from bathing to showering by introducing out first showerheads.  Our famous Anystream showerhead that started it all is still wildly popular, it’s success would be nothing without plumbing.
