K/BIS 2010 in Review

We just got back from a whirlwind trip to Chicago for the 2010 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show.  One of the best parts of the show every year as a manufacturer is checking out what’s new among your industry competitors.  This year was no exception.  So what’s the latest and greatest trend in the Kitchen & Bath plumbing?… It’s no surprise, Low Flow & Green products were the buzz.  With the announcement of Water Sense certification for shower heads finally here (March), many of the industry’s large players are working on getting their certifications for their shower heads.  Some of our competitors have already accomplished this and were prominently displaying the Water Sense logo in their booth for both their shower heads and faucets, others like Speakman, are in the process of getting their certification.  Aside from Water Sense certification, manufacturers showed off their green products via demonstrations, literature, and signage.

Speakman Company had a great K/BIS this year.  It proved to be a great opportunity to meet new people as well as connect with some of our loyal customers and fans.  We exhibited several new and coming products which received positive feedback from booth visitors.

We want to hear what you thought about K/BIS 2010, if you attended, what did you think of the show this year?

  1. Craig Sawyer says:

Where was everybody? Except for the fact that Bosch, Miele, Sears/Kenmore, Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, Eljer, Grohe, American Standard, Viking, Wolf, LG, Jacuzzi, and a lot of other companies weren’t there, it was a great show! Also, it helped if you spoke Chinese, because about 25% of the exhibitors on the main floor were Chinese companies trying to break into the US market.
